How It Works

Getting licensed in Texas can involve multiple forms, requirements, and agencies. PermitSeal helps guide you through the process step-by-step so you can focus on your trade.

  1. 1

Tell us what license you need

Start by submitting a short form describing your trade and experience.

If you already know the exact license (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.), you can select it directly. If you're unsure, that's okay — many people aren't.

  2. 2

    Speak with a licensing specialist

After submitting the form, a PermitSeal specialist will contact you by phone or email.

    During this conversation we will:

    • Confirm which Texas license or certification applies to your work
    • Review basic eligibility requirements
    • Explain the steps required by the state agency
    • Answer any questions about the process

If the license is a good fit and you decide to proceed, we move to the next step.

  3. 3

    Engagement and document review

Before starting, we formalize the process with a simple service agreement.

This allows PermitSeal to assist with:

    • Reviewing your documents
    • Preparing application materials
    • Submitting forms where permitted
    • Communicating with the licensing agency when needed

At this stage we will also collect the information required to prepare your application.

  4. 4

    Application preparation

PermitSeal prepares your application packet and organizes the required documentation.

    This may include:

    • Completing state application forms
    • Reviewing identification and experience records
    • Guidance on exam registration or training requirements
    • Guidance on insurance or bond requirements
    • Preparing documents for submission to the Texas agency

    You review everything before submission.

  5. 5

    Application submission

Once everything is ready, the application is submitted to the appropriate Texas agency.

After submission we help monitor the application and guide you through the next steps such as:

    • Scheduling the licensing exam
    • Completing training requirements
    • Providing additional documentation if requested
  6. 6

    License approval

Once the state approves your application and you pass any required exams, your license is issued.

At that point you are legally authorized to operate in Texas.

PermitSeal can also provide guidance on practical next steps such as:

    • Setting up your business
    • Insurance considerations
    • Basic marketing and customer acquisition
    • Pricing

Service Fees

To keep things simple, PermitSeal uses a two-stage service fee.

Stage 1 — Application Preparation

$149 – $249 depending on license complexity

Paid after your application is prepared and submitted.

Stage 2 — License Completion

$149 – $299

Paid once your license is successfully issued.

This structure keeps the process fair because exam results are outside of our control.

State fees, exam fees, and insurance costs are paid directly to the relevant providers and are not included in the service fee.
